MCDR extended their superb unbeaten run to 11 games by beating Egyptian Premier League strugglers Arab Contractors 2-0 to move fourth of the table. The league debutants were lifted by a first-half brace from striker Ayman Kamal at the Contractors Stadium. Tarek Yehia's team move claim their 40th point to become only nine points adrift of joint-leaders Zamalek and Ahli, who face Gaish and ENPPI this week. Contractors remained third from bottom on 22 points. Elsewhere, bottom side Smouha gained their first point in six matches with a late 1-1 draw with Police Union. Ghanaian midfielder Godwin Attram scored in injury time to cancel out Ahmed Reda's 20th minute own goal for the visitors in Alexandria. In Suez, Ittihad claimed a point by holding Petrojet to a 1-1 draw, while Military Production edged Gouna 1-0 in Cairo, courtesy of a Reda Al-Weeshi goal.
