Ismaili missed the chance of going top of the Egyptian Premier League table after slumping to a surprise 1-0 home to lowly Arab Contractors on Sunday. The only goal of the game was scored by Nigerian striker Musa Kabiru after 16 minutes. Kabiru took advantage of the hosts' poor marking to head in the winning goal past Mohamed Fathi, who continued in goal instead of Mohamed Sobhi. The defeat, Ismaili's first under manager Emad Soliman, left the Dervishes in third place with 38 points, two adrift of leaders Zamalek, who host Smouha later on Sunday. On the other hand, Contractors moved up one place to lie third from bottom on 19 points. The game was stopped for around seven minutes after Ismaili fans threw bottles and stones onto the pitch near the end, in anger over their side's trailing. Contractors have now claimed two victories out of four over Ismaili this season, following a 2-1 win in Cairo back in September.
