Zamalek's football director Ibrahim Hassan says he imposed sanctions on Ahmed Gaafar because his 'angels' told him that the towering striker hung out till late at night on Wednesday. Right after last week's Cairo derby, Gaafar provoked head coach Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim's twin brother, when he informed him via text message that he wanted to part ways with the Whites. The 25-year-old apologized to his boss for the SMS later and underlined his 'strong' desire to help Zamalek win their upcoming league matches. However, Gafaar was fined and ordered to train separately in an extra session after Ibrahim found out the ex-Egypt Telecom man broke one of the Cairo club's rules. "The regulations stipulate that all players are prohibited from staying out late at night," Ibrahim, who's widely seen as a loose cannon for his numerous controversial statements, told reporters.
Ibrahim Hassan "My angels said to me that Gafaar wasn't at home as early as he should. "I also know that he did nothing wrong while hanging out, but the rules have to be followed by everyone." Gaafar considered moving away from Zamalek after being dropped from the team's starting line-up for the goalless draw with Ahli on December 30th. He has been the five-time African champions' first-choice striker since the injury of Egypt marksman Amr Zaki. Gaafar has scored four goals in the Egyptian Premier League so far this season.
