Zamalek have officially entered the race to sign defender Moatasem Salem from Ismaili in the winter break. The Egypt center-half is believed to be a priority target for Ahli, with Ismaili setting EGP 5million as an asking price for his sale. “We opened talks with Ismaili over the transfer of Salem because we want him in January,” Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com. “We hope to reach a reasonable agreement over the price because of Zamalek's financial status in the meantime. “The deal could be finalized soon.” Ismaili accepted Zamalek's offer for Salem in the summer, but the 30-year-old refused to make the move, insisting he wants to join Ahli. An agreement with Ahli was eventually reached and Salem was set to join the league champions, before Ismaili made a last-gasp U-turn.
