Ismaili playmaker Abdullah Saied revealed his frustration with the recent injury setback that cost him a place in Egypt's squad. The 25-year-old has been out of action since April due to a metatarsal stress fracture. Although he is on the verge of making his comeback, Saied conceded that he suffered dearly because of the long-term injury. "The injury stopped me from joining the national team. I also had some offers to play abroad, but I had to holdup my dreams at last," he told FilGoal.com. "However, I will not be hasty in my return. I need to have some friendly action before regaining my full match fitness." Saied was last time called to the Egypt squad in a friendly game against Benin in November. He is expected to resume full training by the end of the week, but has yet to be declared fit for matches.
