Belgium side Lierse are running the rule over former Zamalek defender Amr Adel, the Egyptian-owned club said. Adel was released by Zamalek this summer and can join Lierse on a free transfer. He will take part in a friendly against Germinal Beerschot later on Wednesday. Adel initially signed a contract with Lierse's sister club Wadi Degla, who will play in the Egyptian Premier League next season for the first time in history. If the center-back impressed on Wednesday, he will be kicking-off his European career at the age of 30. Lierse already have several Egyptian players, with left-winger Mohamed Abdul-Wahed and right-back Ahmed Samir leading the contingent. Degla and Lierse will play a friendly in Belgium next week. Both clubs are owned by Egyptian tycoon Maged Sami.
