Juan notched up the opener with a powerful header that hit the top corner of the net, when he towered unopposed to connect with a corner kick. Fabiano latched onto a Kaka deft pass to dribble past the goalie and slot into an empty net, leaving Chile bemoaning. Dominance Maintained Brazil maintained their dominance after the break while their opponents were struggling in vain to reduce the arrears. Robinho finished off a neat counter attack with an accurate effort from inside the area, netting the third and leaving Chile with a mountain to climb. Jorge Valdivia was about to pull one back for La Roja on 65 minutes with a delightful volley that went inches over the crossbar. The last 20 minutes of the game saw either team carve out a good number of clear-cut opportunities with no effectiveness.
