Magdi says he will leave Zamalek
Published in FilGoal on 30 - 05 - 2010

Ahmed Magdi has decided to leave Zamalek after growing increasingly frustrated with lack of first-team opportunities, the midfielder said on Sunday.
The 24-year-old fell down the pecking order after coach Hossam Hassan took over at the club in November last year.
"I took a final decision and no one can convince me to make U-turn, I will leave," he told FilGoal.com.
"I was playing regularly before the arrival of Hassan but I'm now confined to the bench.
"I've already told the technical staff that I intend to leave. I will hand in an official transfer request in the coming few days."
Magdi, who can play as a central defender or midfielder, joined Zamalek from Greek side Atromitos in the summer of 2007.
His versatility benefited Zamalek during the past three years but Hassan opted to rely on Mahmoud Fathallah and Amr Al-Safti as central defenders and Hassan Mostafa and Ibrahim Salah as central midfielders.
Magdi, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2011, refuted reports linking him with a move to Zamalek's arch rivals and his boyhood club Ahli.
"Ahli never talked to me about any deals. I have some offers from Egyptian clubs but I want to play in Europe again," he added.
"I'm awaiting a Swiss offer that should come in the next few days."
Magdi is the second Zamalek player to express his desire to depart in the summer after stand-in keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef.
