Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa has decided to end an 11-year spell in Turkish football and return home, the Egyptian veteran defender said on Friday. The 36-year-old will leave Eskisehirspor after they failed to qualify for next season's Europa League. They finished sixth in the Turkish league table, just one point behind fifth-placed Trabzonspor. "I will not achieve more than what I've already achieved in Turkish football, so I'm returning to Egypt," Al-Saqqa told FilGoal.com. "I might have stayed with Eskisehirspor if they had reached the Europa League, but there is no point in remaining there now. "Eskisehirspor want to extend my contract and (promoted side) Bucaspor are interested in signing me but I've made up my mind." Al-Saqqa came through the youth ranks of Mansoura before joining Denizlispor in 1999 to mark the beginning of a lengthy spell in Turkish football. He also had two stints with Genclerbirligi and one with Konyaspor before moving to Eskisehirspor in January 2009. "I want to play in the Egyptian league for two seasons and stamp my mark there," he added. "Two Egyptian clubs tabled offers for me which I will consider shortly to settle on one of them." Egypt's central defender Al-Saqqa earned 111 international caps, helping the Pharaohs to three African Cup of Nations titles in 1998, 2006 and 2010.
