Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that the Blues became too close to winning the Premiership title after their 2-0 win over Liverpool on Sunday. The London giants are only one point ahead of their closest rivals Manchester United, with each team have one last game to play. Chelsea will win the title should they beat Wigan Athletic in their upcoming game at Stamford Bridge. "It was a very important step in the fight for the title. We played very well and deserved to win," Ancelotti told Sky Sports. "It was a fantastic result and a fantastic performance, but we know we have to wait until the last game against Wigan and stay focused. "We are happy tonight because it was a difficult step against Liverpool at Anfield. We played very well with personality, courage and tactically very well. "We are in a very good situation and will stay focused for the next game. "We always said that this Premier League would be decided at the end of the season in the last game and I think it will be so."
Ferguson Crazy Game On the other hand, United boss Alex Ferguson is still holding out hopes over the defending champions' title chances. "All we can do is win our game next week," he said. "Obviously I wouldn't say it's a sealed result against Wigan by any shadow of a doubt. "They're a good team, they'll have a go and you just never know. It's a crazy game. "Maybe we are clutching at straws a little bit. It is important for us to win in front of our home fans and play the right way. "It would be an incredible achievement for us. At the least we have stretched it (the title race) and kept the nerves going." The Red Devils are hosting lowly team Stoke City in their final Premier League match.
