England manager Fabio Capello is amazed by the progress achieved by Serie A leaders Roma under manager Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri took charge of the Giallorossi after Luciano Spalletti resigned in September and the former lifted the team from the bottom to the summit. "I would give an Oscar to Roma and Ranieri," former Roma coach Capello said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. "They are doing something extraordinary, something unthinkable when they were 14 points back. "The team has always been good, but Ranieri has overachieved. When I left Roma I said that in Italy a Coach couldn't stay longer than four years. "In the fifth year the players don't follow you anymore. They need a spark. Spalletti was very good, but even he, like me, understood that his time was up." Roma are currently one point ahead of defending champions Inter Milan, with five games to go.
