Ismaili have refuted reports suggesting that their midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou, who is on loan at UAE side Ahli, will join Zamalek next season. With his two-year loan spell at Ahli coming to an end, the Egypt midfielder's future is the subject of intense speculation. Reports linked him with several clubs, including Cairo duo Ahli and Zamalek, while suggesting that Ismaili will have no choice but to allow him to leave because they will not be able to afford his wages. Ismaili reiterated that Abd-Rabou, the best player in Egypt's triumphant Nations Cup campaign in 2008 and a key member of the squad that retained the title two years later in Angola, is going nowhere. "Some newspapers said today that Zamalek are in talks with us to sign Abd-Rabou. This is totally untrue," Ismaili board member Alaa Wahid told FilGoal.com on Saturday. "We will not sell our players and will not talk about anything regarding transfers at this crucial stage of the season; we don't want to distract the players." Abd-Rabou, who came through Ismaili's youth ranks, said that he seeks to play in a European league next season. The 25-year-old played for French side Strasbourg in the 2005/2006 season before returning to Ismaili following the team's relegation to the French Ligue 2.
