Hull City chairman Adam Pearson said on Thursday that his club are no longer interested in signing Mido. "We were offered the chance to sign him but we have decided he is not someone we want to pursue," Pearson was quoted as saying by the Daily Star. The Tigers were believed to be among several clubs targeting Mido, who plays for Zamalek till the end of the season on loan from Middlesbrough. After landing Amr Zaki on loan from Zamalek, Hull manager Phil Brown was considering a move for Mido to form a striking partnership with his fellow Egyptian.
Mido with Zaki The 26-year-old striker, who is keen to move back to Europe in January, is considering other destinations including Fulham, Galatasaray and Ajax. Mido has returned to his old club Zamalek last summer in a bid to restore his place in the national team, now competing for a third straight African title in Angola. After naming Mido in his provisional squad, Egypt manager Hassan Shehata dropped him from his final selection. Mido scored only once for Zamalek in the first half of the season.
