The Italian Serie A have fined Cagliari €10,000 for yet another racial abuse against Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko during Sunday's league game. The fine was limited as a Cagliari contingent refused to get involved in taunting the Mali international after the Sardinian club announced over a speaker that racist chants are strictly forbidden Last week, Juventus were hit by a €20,000 fine after their supporters sang an offensive, yet non-racist, song against Inter Milan forward Mario Balotelli. Inter travel to Turin to face Juve on Saturday, with the Nerazzurri skipper Javier Zanetti threatening to walk his team off the pitch if any offensive chants took place. Serie A matches have been marred by a number of racism-related issues in recent years, which prompted many players to voice their dismay. "We as players have repeated our position against racism at every opportunity," Sissoko said last week. "Juventus as a club have taken all the necessary steps. Now the institutions must intervene."
