Yasser denies expressing regret at Ahli move
Published in FilGoal on 31 - 10 - 2009

Egyptian-born Qatari winger Hussein Yasser denied that he regretted joining Ahli as recently reported.
Arabic CNN on Thursday quoted Yasser as saying that the Cairo side 'did not appreciate him', referring that he voiced his disgruntlement with his status as a substitute at the club.
But a couple of days later, the 25-year-old assured that he was misquoted by Arabic CNN.
"I didn't say that at all, no way could I speak of my team like that," Yasser told Ahli's official site.
"I'm enjoying my relationship with everybody here and have absolutely no reason to release such statements.
"I met with (football director) Hadi Khashaba and told him that these statements are totally groundless.
"I'm a professional footballer and I know my rights and duties, but some people are just trying to destroy my relationship with Ahli's officials."
Yasser joined the Egyptian champions in the summer of 2008 on a free transfer after his contract with Portuguese side Sporting Braga expired.
He was tipped for big things and was dubbed as 'Mohamed Barakat's successor' because his style is similar to that of the mercurial midfielder.
He hardly featured for Ahli though and was consistently left out of the team's squad for the Egyptian Premier League games last season.
He opted to stay put in the close season, boosted by the appointment of Hossam Al-Badri as head coach following the resignation of Portuguese tactician Manuel Jose.
However, Yasser, who usually makes late substitute appearances, has yet to prove his worth.
