Ahli's Qatari winger Hussein Yasser will be sidelined for days rather than weeks after scans showed that his injury was not serious. The Egyptian-born player suffered a knee injury in Qatar's 1-1 draw with Bahrain in the World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday. But despite being in obvious pain, the 24-year-old completed the match as Qatar's three substitutions were already made. It was initially thought that Yasser would face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. However, a source close to the player told FilGoal.com that scans showed it was only a minor bruise and that he should return to training after three days. Yasser joined Cairo giants Ahli in the close season after his contract with Portuguese side Boavista expired. Although he arrived with high expectations, with Ahli fans considering him as Mohamed Barakat's successor, Yasser has been given limited opportunities so far this season. He featured in Ahli's 3-0 friendly defeat to AS Roma and came on as a late substitute in the 2-0 Egyptian League loss to Masri.
