Ahli's out-of-favor midfielder Hussein Yasser denied on Sunday holding talks with Masri over a possible move in January. Reports suggested the Egyptian-born Qatari international would jump ship when the transfer window reopens in January after finding it difficult to play first-team football with Ahli. Port Said-based club Masri are believed to be leading the race for his signature, according to the local reports. "I'm not considering leaving Ahli now," Yasser, who recently denied saying that he regretted his move to the Egyptian champions, told FilGoal.com. "I'm yet to receive any offers anyway. I'm unlikely to depart in January." Masri general director Mohsen Sheta also said his side did not consider making a move for the unsettled attacking midfielder.
Salama not interested in Yasser "We can't sign a player without the approval of coach Anwar Salama, who did not express his desire to bring Yasser to Masri," he said. Yasser joined Ahli in the summer of 2008 on a free transfer after his contract with Portuguese side Sporting Braga expired. He was tipped for big things and was dubbed as 'Mohamed Barakat's successor' because his style is similar to that of the mercurial midfielder. The 25-year-old hardly featured for Ahli though and was consistently left out of the team's squad for the Egyptian Premier League games last season. He could only make few substitute appearances so far this term. "I don't have any problems with the technical staff," he commented.
