Michael Carrick struck late to help Manchester United come back from a goal down and beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Wednesday. The German visitors took a shocking lead nine minutes after the restart when Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko rose above Patrice Evra to head home Makato Hasebe's cross. United, who lost striker Michael Owen to injury in the first half, leveled the score via a deflected Ryan Giggs free-kick on 59 minutes. The Welsh winger, who once again produced a scintillating performance, turned from scorer to provider in the 78th minute. He laid off the ball to Carrick and the England midfielder superbly curled the ball into the top corner for a precious winner. United's second victory in as many games places them on top of Group B on six points. Wolfsburg are second with three points, ahead of CSKA Moscow on goal difference after the latter defeated Turkish side Besiktas 2-1 earlier in the day.
