Coach Marco van Basten says AC Milan made a host of bad decisions during the summer transfer window. The Rossoneri gave Brazil playmaker Kaka the green light to seal a move to Real Madrid, and bolstered their squad with few signings, including prolific Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Former Holland great Van Basten is convinced that Milan's close-season reinforcement was negligible, in comparison with the other Serie A powerhouses. "How can you be happy losing 4-0 (to Inter Milan)," said Van Basten, who was one of Milan's superstars in the 1980s and early 1990s. "They have only played two games and it's certainly a difficult moment, but how can you be competitive when the others reinforce and you don't buy players? "Huntelaar is an excellent striker, good in the box and I hope he'll do well in Italy. But he is alone. Have you seen how many players Juventus and Inter have brought in? They invested far more than Milan." Van Basten, Who's currently unemployed, was once expected to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as Milan coach, but eventually Leonardo took charge of the Italian giants. Brazilian tactician Leonardo, who's spending his first season as a coach, also voiced his dissatisfaction over Milan's lack of signings, shortly after his appointment at San Siro.
