Ittihad track Decastel after Buecker's hesitation
Published in FilGoal on 01 - 09 - 2009

Theo Buecker may not be appointed as Ittihad coach, and the club's officials are considering installing either Michel Decastel or Carlos Alberto Cabral instead.
Although he was set to sign a contract with the Alexandrian side in the immediate future, Buecker seemed to be backing out of the deal.
The German boss was expected to arrive at his former club Ittihad right away, but he postponed his arrival till the weekend for no apparent reason.
"Buecker should have arrived immediately to wrap up the deal, but he put off his arrival till Saturday," board member Sherif Al-Helw told FilGoal.com.
The former Zamalek and Ismaili coach was said to be expecting an offer from Libya's Ahli before reaching an agreement with Ittihad, but apparently he is yet to make up his mind.
"We believe that Buecker is trying to agree personal terms with Ahli, and that's why we started to look for other options," Al-Helw added.

"(Former Zamalek coaches) Decastel and Cabral are the frontrunners now, and we have already opened talks with them.
"Cabral's agent said he's ready to take up the job for a $15,000 monthly salary."
Brazilian tactician Cabral had an impressive spell at Zamalek starting 2002, and led the Cairo club to a host of titles.
On the other hand, Swiss coach Decastel was relieved of his duties as the White Knights' boss after they failed to win their last two games. He was succeeded by Henri Michel.
Ittihad has been on the lookout for a new manager since firing Taha Basri, following their poor performances in their first three league matches.
