England manager Fabio Capello implied that Arsenal's 17-year-old midfielder Jack Wilshere has a chance of making the World Cup squad in 2010. Wilshere, who rarely played in the Premier League, impressed in the Carling Cup last term, before dazzling in Arsenal's pre-season campaign this summer. "He surprised me. Really. I saw him last year two times because he played in the Carling Cup and he has improved a lot now," said Capello. "He plays without fear, with confidence. And the other players passed the ball always to him. This is not normal to be so young and so good." Wenger Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has been gradually involving Wilshere in first team action since last season and the latter has never let his manager down. However, Capello indicated that the promising midfielder has to play regular football in order to represent the Three Lions. "We have time before we have to decide if he will go to South Africa. It depends a lot on Arsene Wenger, if he will play him," added the Italian. Meanwhile, Capello decided to omit Manchester United striker Michael Owen for Wednesday's friendly in Holland, whereas David Beckham has been named.
