Zamalek board member and spokesman Sabri Serag stated that his side would sign Brazilian striker Andrade Antunes Anderson from Rio Branco de Andradas 'once he passes the medical'. "The player will undergo a medical on Friday and Saturday," Serag told the White Nights' official website. "The deal is expected to be wrapped up shortly after, and he should take part in his first training session with Zamalek on Saturday. "The coaching staff and the football committee are convinced with Anderson's capabilities and physicality; therefore the deal will go through once he passes the medical." Anderson, who celebrates his 28th birthday in November, joined Brazilian third tier Rio Branco in the summer of 2008, having finished last season as his team's top scorer with 22 goals. He also played for Japanese clubs Mito Hollyhock, Sagan Tosu, Shimizu S-Pulse and Yokohama F.C. Anderson will be the second expatriate to join Zamalek in the close season after Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Ayew, who moved to the Cairo club from homeland side Eleven Wise on a five-year deal.
