Mohamed Zidan, Egypt's two-goal hero against Brazil, said the Pharaohs could have snatched at least a draw if it wasn't for defensive errors. Egypt lost 4-3 in Group B opener in the Confederations Cup on Monday, with Kaka scoring the winner from the spot in the 91st minute. "We played a very good game and stood up to the best team in the world," Zidan told ART Sports. "Egypt were much better after the break but we gave away three goals in the first period because of defensive mistakes." Kaka broke the deadlock in the fifth minute after bamboozling two defenders but Zidan leveled four minutes later with a smart header. Brazil benefited from Egypt's poor positioning in set-pieces, as Luis Fabiano outmuscled Wael Gomaa to connect with a free-kick and head home.
Kaka scored twice Juan repeated the feat, beating Hani Saied to convert a corner-kick past keeper Essam Al-Hadari. "Brazil scored from three times from set-pieces while the first goal came as we lost possession," Zidan added. Mohamed Shawky closed the gap when he scored from a long-range shot in the 54th minute before Borussia Dortmund striker Zidan added the third. But defender Ahmed Al-Muhammadi handled the ball in the box and Kaka converted the resulted penalty home to sink the six-time African Champions. "I believe luck wasn't on our side tonight," Zidan concluded.
