Bayer Leverkusen skipper and holding midfielder Simon Rolfes signed a new contract that will keep him at BayArena until 2013. The 27-year-old, who joined Leverkusen from Alemannia Aachen in 2005, has played over 100 games for the Werkself. Over the last two seasons, Rolfes established himself as a German international player, as he helped his country reach the final at EURO 2008. Leverkusen football sports director has also renewed his contract with the club. Voller has been part of the club administration since 2005, and the former Germany coach expressed his happiness with how things are going at the club. "We have great potential. I was there when we sowed the seeds and I want to be there when we harvest them," Voller told Bayer's official website. Leverkusen are currently eighth in the Bundesliga table with 45 points.
