Trezeguet betrayed me, says Ranieri
Published in FilGoal on 13 - 03 - 2009

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri hit back at David Trezeguet, who fiercely criticized the Italian tactician in the past couple of days.
French veteran Trezeguet got upset when he was taken off in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea, which saw the latter qualify for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Consequently, the unsatisfied player denounced Ranieri's decision, and the latter was revolted when he came under attack from one of his own players.
"I feel betrayed by Trezeguet's words," Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia. "What he said annoyed me a lot and he seems like a spoilt child. He has let me down as a man, rather than a player."
The 57-year-tactican said Trezeguet's criticism would have gone down rather well if it had been kept within the team.
"I haven't spoken to David about this. If he talks to me via the media then I will respond to him in the same way," added Ranieri.

"I gave Trezeguet 100 per cent faith and as a Coach you cannot do more than that.
"We have always kept this kind of thing within the dressing room, but that seems to have changed now."
It has been announced that Ranieri excluded Trezeguet from the Old Lady's squad for their home match against Bologna in the Serie A due to a muscle strain.
But Ranieri's disgruntlement suggests that injury could not be the only reason why the 31-year-old striker will be kept on the sidelines.
"He (Trezeguet) has made a big mistake, full stop. I don't know what will happen now," the unhappy coach stated.
