Zamalek assistant coach Sami Al-Sheshini was pleased with his side's performance against Harras Hodoud despite their 2-1 defeat in Alexandria. The White Knights suffered their ninth league loss to equal their last season's negative record, which was their worst one in history. Two first-half goals from Ahmed Abdul-Ghani and Abdul-Hamid Bassiouni sank Zamalek, whose only goal came through substitute Sherif Ashraf in the second period. "We are gradually improving. We played a very good game tonight, especially in the second half," Al-Sheshini told reporters after the match. Zamalek fans thought their team had finally put recent woes behind them when they beat ENPPI 1-0 last week to end a six-match winless run. But they lost the following match against Egyptian Cup winners Hodoud to lie ninth in the league table on 27 points, seven above the relegation zone. "I just want Zamalek fans to be patient. The players produce promising displays and I'm sure results will be better in the upcoming matches," Al-Sheshini added.
