Wigan boss Steve Bruce expressed his relief with Antonio Valencia's decision to reject Real Madrid and stay with the Latics for a further spell. Valencia has been targeted by Real since the transfer window opened in January, but the Ecuadoran opted to stay at JJB, according to Bruce. "Valencia has turned down an offer from Real Madrid, it only happened on Friday night - and it is great news for us " said Bruce after the 0-0 draw at Aston Villa. "He is prepared to stay with us until the end of the season at least - which is fantastic. "We have lost Emile (Heskey) and Wilson (Palacios), and the last thing you want to do is rebuild a team in January. Keeping hold of Antonio was paramount." N'Zogbia Fee Agreed Meanwhile, the Wigan manager declared that negotiation with Newcastle over the transfer of Frenchman Charles N'Zogbia has reached an advanced stage. "As regards N'Zogbia, we have agreed a fee with Newcastle; we spoke to him on Friday night - and he was at the game," Bruce added. "There is still a bit to do to get over the line, and we will see what develops."
