Ahli Ultras voice dissatisfaction over unfair treatment
Published in FilGoal on 10 - 01 - 2009

Notorious Ahli fans (Ultras) believe the only reason why some of their members were confined by police is that the latter plans to prevent them from spectating the Cairo derby.
Numerous of the infamous firm members were arrested last week, following the unfortunate incidents during and after Ahli's 1-0 win at Ismaili in the Egyptian Premier League.
A prominent Ultras figure revealed that he has been confined because he refused to be held responsible in advance for any potential chaos stirred by hooligans in the derby between Ahli and Zamalek.
"They wanted me to sign a legal document that condemns me in case any of the spectators turn violent during Sunday's match," the member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com.
"When I turned them down, they kept me in custody till the meantime. I probably won't be released till after the game."
According to the confined Ultras member, a multitude of his colleagues were unjustifiably arrested and haven't been released either.
"Some of my mates are still captured. Most of them are students and need to get ready for their imminent exams," he added.
Meanwhile, the police coaxed several other individuals into signing documents similar to the one the aforementioned member refused to pen.

Heavily Vilified
The widely-spread Utras were heavily vilified after Ahli's encounter against Ismaili, which witnessed unprecedented mayhem all over the stands.
Sports Presenter Ahmed Shobeir blamed the pro-Ahli fan club for their outlandish acts, saying they are solely responsible for what happened in Ismailia that night.
During his T.V show, the people's assembly member described the Ultras' members as 'drug addicts, alcoholics, homosexuals and atheists'.
Moreover, Shobeir displayed several pictures of some youths while taking drugs, alleging they are members of the controversial group.
However, one of the Ultras founders stood out firmly against all accusations.
"These are false accusations. Our fan club consists of decent young men," he assured FilGoal.com.
"Some people are waging a campaign to tarnish our reputation.
"Shobeir could introduce a legislation to deter drug dealing instead of triggering rumors about the football supporters."
