Ittihad defender Hossam Abdul-Monem said will stay at the Alexandria-based club until the end of the season before considering his options. “I won't leave Ittihad in January,” the former Zamalek defender told FilGoal.com on Thursday. “I will remain at the club until the end of the season before moving on in the summer. “There are several Egyptian first-division sides interested in signing me like Arab Contractors, Telecom Egypt and Police Union.” The towering defender's relationship with Ittihad has strained after coach Taha Basri excluded him from the Egyptian League game against Al-Gaish earlier this month. Abdul-Monem, Farag Shalabi and Mahmoud Sobhi were left out of the match's squad due to their unauthorized training absence. Under Basri's guidance, Ittihad are trying to impose tough disciplinary measures against careless players. Ittihad, who barely escaped relegation last season, have made a fine start to their league campaign. They lie sixth in the table with 10 points.
