AS Roma registered their first win of the season courtesy of a 3-0 win over Reggina at the Olimpico on Saturday. Strikes from Christian Panucci on 45 minutes, Alberto Aquilani and Simone Perrotta in the 51st and 93rd minutes respectively sealed the crucial win for the Roman outfit. Reggina gave their hosts a little scare in the second minute when David Di Gennaro nearly hit the woodwork from a corner, before Luca Viagini's strike went just inches wide of Alexandre Doni's post. However, Roma picked up their tempo and broke the deadlock right before the interval. A Daniele De Rossi free kick somehow fins its way to Panucci who converted his team's opener. Six minutes into the second half, Aquilani added a second after wrapping up his run with a brilliant left-footed strike from outside the box. Mirko Vucinic almost added a third for the hosts but his desperate flick was marvelously tipped over by Campagnolo in the Reggina goal. Roma scored again in stoppage time when substitutes Totti and Perrotta's combined effort saw Campagnolo parry the former's free kick into the latter's path to easily tap in the empty net. The crucial win will ease tempers in the Eternal City as Roma had only one point out of their first three league games. In another game Catania secured a 1-0 home win over Atalanta thanks to a Michele Paolucci 59th minute goal.
