Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard believes his side have become stronger than last season after getting off their new campaign to a flying start. The Reds are yet to taste defeat this season. They won three matches and drew once in the Premiership. In the Champions League, Liverpool came from behind to earn a 2-1 away victory over Marseille in the group stage opener, thanks to a Gerrard brace. The five-time European champions have the best record of any team in England since last January. "I certainly feel we are stronger than last year," Gerrard told The Mirror on Thursday. "We just don't like getting beaten and you could see the character and togetherness in the second half in Marseille when we didn't play well but still claimed an important victory. "Records stand for nothing because you have to keep winning, but when you get in that frame of mind it gives you confidence to continue." However, the England midfielder called on his teammates to keep their feet on the ground. "We don't want to get carried away and start setting targets about winning things." "We just want to try and stay on this run, work hard and I'm sure the results will come."
