Inter Milan youngster Mario Balotelli said he never considered playing for Ghana, the country of his ancestors, as he set his sights on representing Italy. The 18-year-old was born in Palermo to Ghanaian immigrants but he was entrusted to an Italian family when he was three years old. Reports suggested Balotelli could be tempted by playing for four-time African champions Ghana. However, the talented forward is focused on playing for world champions Italy. “I never considered playing for Ghana, not even in the two years when they picked me,” he was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. Balotelli was not eligible to play for Italy until he turned 18 last month. He was called up to the Azzurri's U-21 team.
