Valencia kicked off their Primera Liga campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Real Mallorca on Saturday. New coach Unai Emery, who was appointed in May, enjoyed a winning start to his league adventure with Valencia. Spain striker David Villa celebrated his contract extension with Valencia by notching the opener after 34 minutes. The EURO 2008 top scorer headed into an empty net after Pablo Hernandez's cross eluded Mallorca keeper. Villa had a hand in Valencia's second goal four minutes later. His shot was parried by Mallorca keeper into the path of Juan Mata, who easily tapped in to extend Valencia's lead. Winger Vicente wrapped up the victory eight minutes from time with a close-range effort after rounding off a series of passes.
