Real Madrid have decided not to keep Robinho against his will, but the Brazilian will have to buy out his contract in order to seal a move to Chelsea. Robinho, who was persistently chased by the Blues this summer, publicly pronounced his desire to leave Real before the upcoming transfer window deadline. "Real Madrid know about the comments made by Robinho and deeply regret them, given the high personal and professional esteem that the Club have always held the player in, as he deserves," an official announcement on Real's website read. "Real Madrid would never retain a player in the team against his wishes and would have no choice but to call for a unilateral resolution of the contract if the player wants so." However, Robinho will have to resolve his contract by paying no less than a €150M buy-out clause, unless Real agree to enter negotiations with Chelsea. The 24-year-old's earlier comments suggested that his stay with Real next season has become impossible. Exit Aim "I've told the president, the directors and the coach that my aim is to leave Real Madrid," he told Spanish agency EFE. "I'm telling the truth. I want to leave and I have got the character to tell the press that I'm not aiming to stay at Real Madrid. "I want to play in the Premier League next season." "Chelsea have a great squad, a great team and their offer is good for me and for the team. "It isn't because of money, it is simply because I want to leave. My personal aim is to be the best player in the world and that isn't going to be possible at Real Madrid. "I've finished my cycle. I've played three seasons at Real Madrid and have given everything. I have scored goals, won two leagues and that isn't easy. I think my period at Real Madrid has come to an end. "I hope the directors reach an agreement with Chelsea to resolve my situation as quickly as possible."
