Islam Al-Shater believes that former Ahli teammate Emad Meteb will shine with Ittihad Jeddah, following the Egypt striker's loan move from the Reds. Al-Shater, who joined Harras Al-Hodoud this summer, spent six months with Saudi giants Ittihad in 2004, before joining Ahli from Zamalek. "Ittihad are a very big club which usually represents the spine of Saudi national team, but they had problems in attack since the retirement of Hamza Idriss," Al-Shater told FilGoal.com. "I think that Meteb will add much to the team and I expect him to shine in the Saudi league."
Al-Shater with Ittihad Al-Shater conceded that the tough weather conditions in Jeddah could be Meteb's only problem with the Gulf side. "The temperature and humidity are very high in Jeddah, but if Meteb was able to cope with that, he should be facing no problems," added the veteran full-back. Meanwhile, Ittihad have reinforced their squad with another striker, as Morocco forward Hicham Aboucherouane joined Gabriel Calderon's side from Esperance. Aboucherouane joins compatriot Noureddine Boukhari, who signed for the Tigers of Asia from Sparta Rotterdam.
