Bayern Munich defender Willy Sagnol has opened fire on the departed coach Ottmar Hitzfeld. “From now on it is over, he has gone, after having managed a big club he takes over a great squad (smiles),” the France international defender told reporters during his training camp with les Bleus. The 31-year defender spent most of the season on the bench and made only nine Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian giants. He was linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena to get regular football. New boss Jurgen Klinsmann persuaded him to stay and told him that he is included in his plans. “Everything is fine with Bayern,” added Sagnol. Hitzfeld stepped down as Bayern coach to take over Switzerland after the Euro 2008.
