Chelsea beat Newcastle 2-0 on Monday to go level on points with leaders Manchester United and send the Premier League title down to the final day of the season. Two second-half goals from in-form Michael Ballack, 60, and Florent Malouda, 81, earned the Blues their 84th point just like United who are in the lead courtesy to a better goal difference. Avram Grant's men must beat Bolton next week and hope United struggle against Wigan to win the Premier League title. Chelsea had a few scares in the first half as Michael Owen came twice close from scoring but missed his chances. Germany skipper Ballack could have given his side the advantage at the break but his shot went wide. A better Chelsea side took control of the game in the second half. The bar blocked a strong header from John Terry, but Ballack managed to find the net connecting with a precise cross from Didier Drogba. In the 81st minute Frank Lampard set up Malouda to double the lead and secure the full points of the game.
