AC Milan's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League had a major blow after a slip-up against Atalanta 2-1 on Sunday. The hosts dropped to sixth place of the Serie A table with 49 points, four behind fourth-placed Fiorentina. Sergio Floccari opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and set up Antonio Langella with the second three minutes before the break. While the Rossoneri's strikers failed to find a breakthrough, captain Paolo Maldini revived his side's hopes as he pulled one back in the 85th minute. Milan's hopes of getting anything out of the match were dented as Andrea Pirlo missed a late penalty. It wasn't the end of manager Carlo Ancelotti's woes as defender Alessandro Nesta was sent off for arguing with the referee to let Milan end the game with 10 men on the pitch.
