Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted a brace to help Inter Milan edge past Ascoli 2-1 and increase their lead on top of the Serie A as AS Roma were held to a goalless draw by Fiorentina. Swedish international Ibrahimovic broke the deadlock five minutes past the hour mark when he volleyed home Adriano's cross from close-range. Adriano set-up Ibrahimovic again eight minutes later when his pass beat the offside trap and was controlled by the former Juvneuts man, who slotted the ball home. Massimo Bonanni scored a late consolation, converting home a penalty deep into stoppage time. Inter are in charge of the league table with 76 points, a massive 18 ahead of second-placed Roma whose title hopes faded. Elsewhere, Massimo Ambrosini headed home four minutes before the break to lead AC Milan to a 1-0 victory over Atalanta at the Giuseppe Meazza. The victory put Milan in fifth place 43 points, three adrift of a UEFA Champions League spot.
