Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been named England Captain when the team will face France in a friendly game on Wednesday. A statement on the English FA website confirmed that manager Fabio Capello continues his approach of rotating the captaincy between players during friendly matches, before confirming a permanent captain for the qualifying games. Liverpool's Steven Gerrard captained England against Switzerland, but despite the comeback of David Beckham and John Terry, Capello named Ferdinand. Meanwhile, Beckham gave his support to his former Real Madrid manager saying that he is the right man to restore England's pride. "He is without doubt the right man for the England job," the LA Galaxy midfielder told Skysports.com. "He's got his own ways and he knows how to get teams playing. That's what our country needs - we need to get the confidence back of the nation and we can start by playing some good games. "Now we've got a manager who knows how to get the best out of players," added the England skipper. Bekcham is set to earn his 100th cap for England if he features against France.
