Ahli keeper Amir Abdul-Hamid declined to comment on Gamal Hamza's claim that he should have been awarded a penalty in the Cairo derby on Friday. Zamalek forward Hamza went one-on-one with Abdul-Hamid before falling to the ground on the slightest of contacts. Italian referee Stefano Farina waved away his penalty claims. "I have nothing to say concerning this matter," Abdul-Hamid told FilGoal.com on Saturday. "When the referee blew his whistle, I thought that he awarded Zamalek a penalty and that he will book me." Ahli claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Zamalek, thanks to two second-half strikes from Ahmed Fathi and Emad Meteb. Mixed Opinions Zamalek assistant coach Mohamed Helmi insisted his side deserved to earn a penalty while Ahli boss Manuel Jose firmly refuted his claims. "Hamza was not pushed. He did the same action in Ahli's victory over Zamalek in the Egyptian Cup final last year," the Portuguese manager told the post-match press conference. Sports critics also had different opinions. Hassan Al-Mesteskawi, Al-Ahram's respected critic, insisted Farina should have given Zamalek a penalty. Former Zamalek star and current Egyptian FA member Ayman Younes echoed his view. On the other hand, Al-Akhbar critic Alaa Sadek admitted there was a contact between Abdul-Hamid and Hamza, but believes the latter dived before colliding with the Ahli guardian.
