Camoranesi pays old debt
Published in FilGoal on 19 - 02 - 2008

Juventus winger Mauro Camoranesi has been fined £30,000 for an 'imprudent' tackle he committed 13 years ago in a match with Argentine B league Aldosivi.
The Italy international, who was born in Argentina, was found guilty of ending the career of Alvarado player Javier Pizzo in 1994, following an ill-fated challenge.
Pizzo's knee was reduced to around 39 % of its original capacity and he was sidelined for three years after damaging ligaments, meniscus and tendons.
Gazzetta reported that judge Heber Amalfi ordered Camoranesi to pay the hefty fine for his 'imprudent tackle'.
It is also believed that the 31-year-old midfielder will appeal against the verdict.
Mido Case
Egypt striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' has been embroiled in a similar problem, after a horrific tackle four years ago on former Al-E'lameyin player Mostafa Abdul-Rahim.
Abdul-Rahim's career was subsequently shattered after he suffered a torn cruciate ligament, interior ligament damage as well as a damaged knee cartilage.
Abdul-Rahim is still fighting to get adequate compensation from the Middlesbrough striker, who claims that he provided the former footballer with enough funds.
