Ismaili's financial crisis took another twist after the club decided to part ways with the official sponsor that was supposed to back the team financially. General manager Abdul-Rahman Annoos revealed that the Dervishes are set to terminate the contract with the sponsor for failing to provide enough funding. "We took the decision because the company was supposed to provide us with EGP 3M, but we received nothing," he told FilGoal.com. "The governor promised to help us in order to recompense the players with their late wages." Ismaili team players have not received their basic salaries in several months, but were promised to get their late wages in full before Wednesday's league game with Zamalek. The Dervishes' financial crisis forced Yehia Al-Koumi to step down from his position as chairman late in 2007, as Ibrahim Ashour is the current interim chairman.
