Amr Zaki will miss Egypt's last warm-up game against Angola after collecting a head knock during the 1-0 victory over Mali on Thursday. The Zamalek striker was stretchered off the pitch in the second period after colliding with the Mali goalkeeper. He stayed in an Abu Dhabi hospital over the night as the Egyptian team headed to Lisbon, where they will take on Angola in their last friendly on Sunday. "Zaki's injury is not serious," EFA chairman Samir Zaher told Egyptian TV. "But we prefer he gets back to Cairo for some rest ahead of the African Cup of Nations." Zaki scored twice against Namibia in the first friendly in Egypt. His injury leaves manager Hassan Shehata with little options up front against Angola. Emad Meteb, Mohamed Fadl and Mohamed Zidan are the only strikers available. Middlesbrough striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Tersana forward Ahmed Salama were forced out of the squad with different injuries. Zaki is set to be ready after a four-day rest in Cairo, according to his manager. The Pharaohs will return to Cairo after playing Angola. The competition starts on January 20th and ends on February 10th. Egypt play in Group C alongside Cameroon, Zambia and Sudan.
