Ramos unveiled as Spurs boss
Published in FilGoal on 28 - 10 - 2007

Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the appointment of Spaniard Juande Ramos in place of sacked coach Martin Jol.
Ramos arrived at White Hart Lane after leaving Spanish league side Sevilla, following a superb spell in charge of the Andalucian outfit.
"Juande's arrival is great news for Tottenham Hotspur. He brings with him a wealth of experience, a proven track record and a winning pedigree," Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli said.
"By making the appointment at this stage of the season, with our current, talented group of players, we have given ourselves the opportunity to compete well in all four competitions."
The 53-year-old manager was delighted to join the London club, claiming that he coaching in England is like a dream come true for him.
"I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work as Head Coach at Tottenham Hotspur, a club with a great tradition and history," he said.
"Ever since I started my coaching career I have wanted to work in England. It is my sincere hope that I can repay the faith the Spurs Board has shown in me.

Ghaly had problems with Jol
"I am looking forward to meeting the players; it is a squad any coach would be excited to work with. I genuinely believe that there is the potential to achieve great things together. "
Former Dutch coach was sacked after a series of dismal results so far this season, leaving Tottenham third from bottom in the league.
Jol's departure might also be good news for Egypt midfielder Hossam Ghaly, who had a frosty relationship with the Dutchman and had not played a single minute under his management this season.
Jimenez for Sevilla
On the other hand, Sevilla appointed youth coach Manuel Jimenez as a successor to the departed Ramos.
Jose Maria Del Nido welcomed Jimenez's arrival as he thanked Ramos for his spell at the club, but as well hinted that Ramos' 'unilateral' decision could cost the club.
"Despite the serious damage caused to the club by Ramos's unilateral decision to abandon us during the season, I want to thank him for two years and four months of marvelous service," Del Nido said.
