The Club World Cup 2007 is set to witness some new methods and technologies as the goalmouth referees and the goal-line technology will be experimented in Japan next December. FIFA, issued the decision during the first meeting of the FIFA's new Strategic Committee held in Zurich on Tuesday. A FIFA spokesman announced that the precise role of the two extra referees and their general positioning, would be determined in the run-up to the competition. The World soccer governing body also confirmed that the goal-line technology will be used in the competition after first being tested in the World Youth Championship 2007. The technology is based on using a chip in the ball to determine if it has crossed the line. This year, the Club World Cup will include seven nations, six continental champions plus the J-League winner. Five teams have already booked their places: Italy's AC Milan, Argentina's Boca Juniors, Mexico's Pachuca and New Zealand's Waitakere United. Ahli, the team that represented Africa in each of the 2005 and 2006 editions, will face Tunisians Etoile du Sahel in three weeks battling for this season trophy.
