Ismaili have ended speculation about the future of manager Taha Basri by confirming his dismissalfor the second time. Chairman Yehia Al-Koumi fired Basri just minutes after the team's 4-4 home draw against Ittihad Alexandria on Tuesday. Then he backtracked on the decision and allowed the former Zamalek legend to lead Wednesday's training session before going in a late meeting. AL-Koumi gave his final verdict and appointed former Ismaili legend Ismail Hefni as the team's caretaker coach.
Bucker Current Yemen coach and ex-manager Mohsen Saleh has been shortlisted as a possible option, in addition to German Theo Bucker who also is a former Ismaili coach. Ironically, Bucker has been sacked by Saudi Arabia's Ahli Jeddah on the same day that Ismaili showed Basri the door. Basri is the second manager to be axed by the Ismailia-based club this year, following the dismissal of Frenchman Patrice Neveu in the pre-season.
