Italian manager Fabio Capello revealed that he was sacked from his position at Real Madrid by Chairman Ramon Calderon against the wishes of the fans. "The polls showed that over 70% of the Madrid fans wanted me to stay, but the president had other ideas, and obviously one must go with them," said the former Juventus coach. Capello was forced to leave after leading the Merengues to their first title in four years. "Calderon wanted to see Real perform differently. We won the title but he weren't presenting beautiful football. And at the end it's up to him to decide and not the fans." The Italian tactician also revealed that he would take a rest for almost a season following a very tough season with Real Madrid.
