Zamalek have approached Trabzonspor Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdul-Aziz in an attempt to acquire his services for next season. "I was contacted by Zamalek, who showed interest in signing me, and of course I welcomed their approach because I wish to return to my old club," Abdul-Aziz told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. Zamalek officials are expected to arrive at Turkey next week to meet with their Trabzon counterparts, in order to enquire about Abdul-Aziz's transfer. "Zamalek will open talks with Trabzon next week before they meet with my agent to discuss my own demands," the Egypt international added. The 29-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign with the Turkish side, which he joined in January, helping the team to finish fourth in the league and reach the UEFA Intertoto. Abdul-Aziz also had previous spells in Turkey with Malatyaspor, Kocaelispor and Genclerbirligi in his seven-year tour in Europe. Meanwhile, a source inside Zamalek confirmed the club's interest to sign Abdul-Aziz, in an attempt to fill in the defensive midfield position. The white club is hoping to make up for their recent failure to seize Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou, who is set for an Ahli switch.
