Zidan tips Meteb for Mainz move
Published in FilGoal on 13 - 06 - 2007

Mohamed Zidan has revealed that his former club Mainz is interested in signing striker Emad Meteb and that the new Hamburg forward has given him a vote of confidence.
Zidan said that Mainz's football director, who has a good relationship with the Egyptian striker, has contacted him enquiring about Meteb.
"I got a message from Mainz football director, asking me about Meteb's standard and the possibility of bringing him to the club," Zidan said in Sports Today show on Dream TV.
"I completely backed Meteb for the move, I replied saying that he is one of the best Egyptian strikers, an excellent goal scorer, and he could be the ideal signing to help the club get back to top flight."

Mainz have been relegated to the Bundesliga 2 last season, and they are looking for a replacement for their top scorer Zidan.
"I think that Mainz officials will contact their Ahli counterparts, to open talks about Meteb soon," Zidan added.
Meteb has one year left on his contract, and he has been desperate for a move to Europe in recent years.
The 24-year-old has repeatedly rejected a contract extension with the Cairo giants, leaving the door open for a bigger move.
